Roam's Switched Output Disconnect panels provide a secure, switched connection point for temporary power output from a building's line power over Cam-Lock terminated cables. Applications for these Disconnects include lighting, mobile equipment, load banks, temporary buildings, convention/fair booths, or entertainment venue power.
Switched Output Disconnect PanelsRoam Technologies also offers reliable fused disconnect cam-lock solutions designed for safety and efficiency. Our switched disconnect and fused disconnect panel cam-lock products ensure secure connections and reliable power distribution, Explore our range of switched and fused output disconnect panels today.
Models are available at 200 Amps and 400 Amps, in both Single-Phase and Three-Phase versions, and in panels supporting up to 240 VAC, up to 480 VAC, and up to 600 VAC. All of Roam's Output Disconnect panels are UL 891 listed, use Cooper Crouse-Hinds Cam-Lok* brand E1016 (J-Series/16 Series) female Cam-Lock connectors, are NEMA 3R rated, and are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
Switched Disconnects—Standard and FusedRoam standard and fused Switched Output Disconnect panels outside door handle controlled; the handle must be turned to "Off" position for the door to be opened. Access is thus restricted to live cam-lock conductors during normal operation. Some local electrical or fire codes may require such an interlock feature. While the Disconnect handle can be built under the lockable front door as an option, this version of the Disconnect lacks the above safety feature.
The fused version of the Switched Output Disconnect offers offer integrated short circuit protection; while the standard Switched Disconnect does not. Depending on the amperage to be supported, the Fused Output Disconnect uses either a 200A Class J Fuse (Frame Size 6, 200A/600VAC, Blade Style) or a 400A Class J Fuse (Frame Size 7, 400A/600VAC, Blade Style). This version of the Disconnect is sold without the fuse, but Roam stocks both types of fuses and can supply them as an add-on.
Voltages up to 600VACRoam offers its Output Disconnect Panels in models that support up to 240 VAC (120v, 208v, 230v, 240v), up to 480 VAC (277v, 330v, 440v, 480v), and up to 600 VAC (575v, 577v, 600v), which are UL Listed at those voltage levels. Brown-Orange color coding (for labels, Cam-Locks, & Cam-Lock spring caps) is normally used for most 480 VAC applications. Only the up to 240A and up to 480A models are shown in the photos above.
Roam's Output Disconnect Panels accept either #2 to 2/0 (for 200A panels) or 2/0 to 4/0 cables (for 400A panels) via Cam-Lock plugs on the generator cable side. On the internal wireway side, these panels accept from 6 AWG to 350 MCM cables for 200A panels. For 400A panels, the internal wireway side connectors can be customer-specified as either single or dual conductor lugs. For single conductor lugs, Ground cable lugs accept from 6 AWG to 300 MCM, and Neutral, L1, L2, & L3 (L3 for Three-Phase power only) lugs accept from 4 AWG to 600 MCM. For dual conductors, all cable lugs accept from 6 AWG to 600 MCM.
All cables used should be specified by a qualified electrical designer or electrician to support the maximum possible current draw through a specific connection.
Normally, Output Disconnect Panels (boxes) are built with the Neutral connection not running through the switch (frequently referred to as a "solid" Neutral). However, Roam does offer a Switched Neutral option, where the Neutral connection is switched (i.e., an additional pole runs through the switch). All of Roam's Switched Neutral rated Output Disconnect Panels have a "-SN" extension in their part number.
Any Roam panels with power connectors normally color coded (for Cam-Locks, Spring Caps, and Labels) as L1=Black, L2=Red, & L3=Blue are also available in the typical Canadian color coding format of L1=Red, L2=Black, & L3=Blue. If you need to order a unit with the Canadian color scheme, just add a "-CAN" to the end of the Model Number. If you are connecting to a generator that uses the US color coding (L1=Black, L2=Red, L3=Blue), then you may want the standard US color system (so long as local electrical codes allow).
Roam's 400A-600MCM Generator Interface Panels (Boxes) can also be ordered with no neutral connection for sites and generator configurations designed for just Ground, L1, L2, and L3 cables. The "No Neutral" versions of these panels are also UL Listed and cUL Listed (Canada). To order a panel without a neutral connector just add a "-NN" to the end of the Model Number. The "No Neutral" panels use only four Cam-Lock connectors.
The "x" in the numerical section of the part number represents a code of either 1 for Single-Phase power or 3 for Three-Phase power. The "a" in the part number represents a code of either 2 (for up to 200A panels) or 4 (for up to 400A panels). The "v" in the part number represents a code of either 2 (for up to 240 VAC panels), 4 (for up to 480 VAC panels), or 6 (for up to 600 VAC panels). For the No Neutral option, add "-NN" to the base model number. For the Switched Neutral option, add "-SN" to the base model number. For the Switch handle inside the lockable outer door, add a "-IN" to the base model number.
